e:  Curb-side Recycling Program for the City of Port Coquitlam

This letter outlines the points of agreement between International
Paper Industries Ltd. and the Coquitlam SHARF Society for the provision of
a Curbside newspaper recycling program for the City of Port Coquitlam if
@ contract is awarded to either of the parties, | 7

The proposed program will be modelled after IPI's North Shore
operations, although most closely aligned with the developing Burnaby curb-—-
sidé program. An advertising program will be conducted by SHARE with IPI's
assistance and will include a brochure, and a collection bag. These will
be delivered to each single family residence in Port Coquitlam by SHARE,

. Residents will be encouraged to separate their newspeper and other _
recyclable paper products from their garbage and store it in the collection
bag. This. bag should be taken out with the garbage every second week,
Preferably after the garbage truck has been through, SHARE will collect the
bag from each resident and leave an empty bag (in a secure location), This»
paper will either be delivered to a IPT plant at the end of the day or be
deposited at a local transfer station. — oe |

Any questions or problems regarding the service will be answered by
SHARE through a local office which will be advertised in the literature.
All relevant statistics regarding the service including participation
levels, complaints, and tonnage of paper recoverec will be collected by
SHARE and reported to the City of Port Coquitlam and IPT at regular
intervals.

Further to the above program and points included, in the event that
the contract for curb—side recycling is awarded to IPI or to SHARE the
Parties agree to the following: | . .

1. SHARE will be responsible for the collection of the Paper on a bi-
weekly basis on the normal garbage day;
