It is different when one wins by acclamation and obviously many others share that view, howeverit is not the fault, if indeed fault has to be laid at anyones doorstep, of the Candidates who did put their names forward in good faith. Speaking for my self ~ the decision to run for election was not taken lightly. The decision was made knowing that if re-electedI would be making a committment to the feople of Port Coquitlam to serve them to the very best of my ability. Being re-elected by acclamation does not change that committment. Being elected by acclamation does not belittle the achievement. Being re-elected by acclamation should be recognised in the same manner as if one had been elected as a result of an election and not swept under the rug as if it were something we are ashamed of. Being elected by acclamation must not be interpreted as a blow to democracy but accepted as part of the aemocratic process. I am proud to serve on City Council and to'‘contribute in some small way to the future of our Community. Port Coquitlam is a good place to live.
