In her late twenties, this classical musician transformed herself into a singer-songwriter-composer, inspired by her creative environment and also by the fortuitous arrival of the ukulele in her life. After completing a Bachelor's degree in anthropology in Montreal and Vancouver, and after several years of social work with at-risk youth, the artist launched her first aloum, Urgence (“Emergency”), which addresses her inner questionings about the human phenomenon, spiritual suffering and courage. Combustion Lente’s most recent album, Bon gré Mal gré, launched in May 2016, is a hybrid project blending the artist's two musical roots: classical piano and traditional folksong. Following on her first opus, this aloum explores spiritual ideas in addition to several instrumental pieces influenced by classical piano, jazz and popular music.
