THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM MEMORANDUM TO ee B.R. Kirk, City Administrator November 4, 1988 City Administrator ; FROM: T.M. Chong, P. Eng., city Engineer ; SUBJECT: Improvements in vicinity of 2475 Gately Avenue Recommendations: 1. That a catch basin be installed north of 2475 Gately Avenue and that the estimated cost of $1,500 for this work be funded from the 1988 Unallocated Public Works Capital Budget. 2. That the paving of the lane north of 2475 Gately Avenue be included in the list of proposed public works capital projects for 1989. Background and Comments: The attached letter from Mr. Hicks of 2475 Gately Avenue provides background to the recommendations placed before Council. Mr. Hicks’ statement on the apparent lack of road sweeping maintenance on Gately Avenue is incorrect. As per the level of maintenance set by Council for 1988, this street is swept approximately once every two months. The most recent sweeping of the road took place on October 26, 1988. The Public Works Committee considered Mr. Hicks’ other requests and came to the following conclusions: | a. The installation of an additional catch basin north of 2475 Getely is | . warranted due to the poor drainage in the fiat area. | b. The paving of the gravel lane, while desirable, should be considered a in light of other public works capital projects for 1989. City Treasurer's Comments: Funds are available per the above recommendations. » Maitland, City Treasurer 34 TMC: jlh attachment
