1.5 CONTRACTOR The Contractor is the person, firm, or corporation contracting with the Client to provide labour, materials, and equipment for the execution of the Work. SUBCONTRACTOR A Subcontractor is a person, firm, or corporation contracting with the Contractor to perform a part or parts of the Work included in the Contract, or to supply products worked to a special design according to the Contract Documents. SUBSTANTIAL PERFORMANCE Substantial Performance of the Work is as defined in the Lien legislation applicable to the place of the Project. If such legislation is not in force or does not contain such definition, Substantial Per- formance shall have been reached when the Work is ready for use or is being used for the. purpose intended and is so certified by the Architect. ARTICLE 2 ARCHITECT'S SERVICES AND RESPONSIBILITIES BASIC SERVICES The Architect's Basic Services consist of the six phases described in Paragraphs 2.1 through 2.6 and include normal structural, mechanical, and electrical engineering services and any other services included in Article 13 as part of Basic Services.
