From the Public Works Committee, February 17th, 1978 advising of receipt of a letter from the Ministry of Highways and Public Works ‘February 13th, 1978 in reply to Council's enquiries regarding the traffic lights at Coast Meridian Road and recommending that the City write to the Ministry of Highways and Public Works asking them to install a left turn flashing arrow at the Coast Meridian Road intersection to clarify the situation there. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the City Clerk be instructed to write to the Minister of Highways and Public Works asking him to see to the installation of a left turn flashing arrow at the Coast Meridian Road intersection. Carried. From the Public Works Committee, February 17th, 1978 advising the City Engineer has now received the requested information from the Provincial Ministry of the Environment which sets out the basic criteria for the design and construction of a bridge over the Coquitlam River in the Patricia - Lincoln area. It is expected that a request for specific proposals will be going out to various firms the week of February 20th, 1978 and once the proposals have been received it should be possible for Council to consider how to proceed on the basis of a specific proposal. The City Engineer then illustrated the proposed structure on the black- board. From the Public Works Committee, February 17th, 1978 advising of a petition received February 16th, 1978 from the Northside Merchants asking that pavement of Sefton Street between Salisbury Avenue and Ww 2.23 tet nn ® LACLLILCLLACS Prairie Avenue be carried out and that proper crosswal throughout the area (with special emphasis on the crosswalk on Prairie Avenue in the vicinity of the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce) be installed, and the Public Works Committee advised they would check into the cost of this work and report back to Council. From the Public Works Committee, February 17th, 1978 advising of the drainage problem on Anita Drive and of the storm sewer installation which could be done through a Local Improvement Program at the cost of $1.00 per front foot for ten years or under the advanced construction schedule at the cost of $2.00 per front foot for ten years.
