Dear Hr. Pollock,

For the past four years wa have opereted s Raception Hons
for children in New Westeineter, The rented property there
was sold and we were required to vacate the prosiass fron
dune 30th. .

We were unable te locate a suiteble raple ent and the
children ware taken to suaner Cemp at Paradisa Valley. We
have up to 12 childran in the 3 to 12 yeer age range. Their
averege stay may vary from a few weeks to saoversl months.

One of our main considerations is to find a facility that will
provide s home rather than en institutional environnent. Ws
have been able to locate a suitable home at 2070 Mary Hill Road
in Port Coquitlam end have completed an iaterim agreemsnt to
purchase, subject to obtaining municipal and provincial spproval
to operate it os a Receiving Home,

We would be pleased, therefore, if you would institute whatever
Procedures sre necessary for us te obtein approvel for the cse
of this homs for up to 12 children. This is en uzgent matter
ond we would oppreciate your giving £t early considaration.

The total amount of Social Allowance payable ~ we must consider that many
of the families, particularly one parent (xothers with children) ~ spouses
are paying maintenance although the total amount 49 not available, .

This would alse apply tu the family category where the spouse is in receipt

of Unemployment Insurance and we are adxinistering Social ALlavance on their
behalf - the cheques of Unemployment Insurance are mede payable to the Minister
of Finance.
