To the Old Timers Recreational Softball Leaque to have garden on July 7th, &th, and 9th, 1978; 2. To the Esco-Labatts Fastball Tournament to have a beer garden on September 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, 1978. Carried. Alderman Mabbett advised the work on Prairie Avenue will commence in the very near future. Alderman Mabbett advised the schools are becoming very badly littered in front of their premises and asked that School District No. 43 be requested to notify the principals to have the areas cleaned up. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That School District No. 43 be requested to ask their principals to clean up the debris in front of the schools in Port Coquitlam. Carried. Mayor Campbell expressed his appreciation to the May Day Committee and to the community for everyone's help in making May Day a success.
