November 7th, 1977

Alderman Mabbett advised the intersection at Flint and Prairie is
causing concern with the parents in the area, cars are speeding. Aldermen
Laking and Mabbett advised they are meeting with the principal of Viscount
Alexander School on November 8th, 1977 to discuss traffic problems.

Alderman Mabbett expressed concern with the Coast Meridian and
Prairie intersection, Regina Street needs te be completed as a second
outlet for traffic.

Alderman Laking advised floodproofing should be re-examined.
Alderman Mabbett advised City is meeting with Greater Vancouver Regional
District November 8th, 1977.

Alderman Keryluk expressed concern with floodproofing and suggested
a 30-day period for resolution of problem.and:.a discussion ensued with
no general agreement.

Alderman Keryluk expressed concern over lighting at Mary Hill Road
and Pitt River Road and asked the Public Works Committee to look into
this.

Alderman Keryliuk advised the Dominion Avenue pump had cut out.during
recent heavy rains and suggested the pump be run longer to lower water
level so when rains were heavy there would be more storage room. The
Assistant City Engineer explained that possibly the water level could be
lowered another six inches, but any more and the pump would be damaged.

Alderman Keryluk expressed concern with B.C. Telephone Company
poles still in wrong place on Prairie Avenue, and: the Assistant City
Engineer advised B.C. Telephone Company were notified months ago to
remove poles.

Alderman Ranger advised Council the Leisure Activities Committee is
meeting with the Senior Citizens on November 8th, 1977 at 3:43 p.m.
