Pollock, - City of Port Coquitlan, 2272 McAllister Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. Dear Sir: This is in reply to your request for further particulars on the R.C.M.P.'s request for additional civilian staff. I have discussed this matter with Inspector Young and he concurs with the following. a , ; The request is for: additional permanent Dispatcher/Clerks. ; additional Clerk 1 in the Records Office. additional Clerk-~Steno 2 in the Traffic Office. _ additional Clerk-Steno 2 in the General Office. Clerk-Steno 2 in the OIC's office. additional Telephone Operator-Typist for Relief purposes. Dispatcher/Clerks At present we have six permanent Dispatcher/Clerks who cover our radio operation on the basis of two persons on poth day and afternoon shifts Monday to Friday. We have two part-time casual employees who work with a permanent Dispatcher/Clerk to cover poth day and afternoon shifts on Saturday and Sunday. On the midnight to 8:00 A.M. shifts the Dispatcher/Clerks are relieve by an R.C.M.P. member taken off the street. The two additional permanent staff would enable us to place two permanent Dispatcher/Clerks on all shifts and thus give better office back~up to our units on the street. In actual fact the total cost increase is 1.2 persons as we .could then eliminate the two part-time employees. -continued
