Kitimat-Stikine, to relocate the Thornhill garbage dump, Jeff Marvin, of Millar Réad south of Krumm Road, said he recently shot a four und rat, 10 inches in length and the rat took four 22 gun shells in its neck before {t died. Marvin says something has to be done to remove the dump. to. a’ new location Decale more and more people are : atin e Old Lakelse fake Road area south of Krumm Road. The rat shot by Marvin had eaten several pounds of cat..food stored in the basement and when the pest was locked out of the up- stairs of Marvin's home it screamed. “I don’t know if you've ever heard a rat scream all night but it’s nat a pleasant sound."” veral residents living in - the area say they are angry enough at the Regional District to mail every dead rat they catch to a director, until something is done‘ about the problem. Clarence Dunphy, ', a neighbour of Marvin, says he averages one trapped rat a day in basement. “That's 365 rats a year,” he adds. His dog averages three to four rats a day outside the house. Dunphy said he has had the problem for about 1% years and he has only lived in the area for two years. Last year other residents in the same Thornhill area complained about ‘similar problems.
