nouvelle adresse pour septembre 2004 sera dans les locaux d’une
école ayant un programme d’immersion intégré depuis plusieurs
années : South Sahali Elementary School. Nous sommes trés
enthousiastes a l’idée de joindre cette école car elle répond a
tous nos critéres de sélection. Le directeur et les enseignants
nous accueillent a bras ouverts et nous sommes confiants qu’un
partenariat dynamique fleurira de cette union.

La cabane a sucre organisée par I’ Association Francophone de
Kamloops a connu un grand succés. Une fois de plus, nos

As you probably know, Beattie School will become a fine arts
school in September. With this enormous change, space will be
limited and, unfortunately, there will be no room available for
our program. This ends three years of close collaboration with
Beattie school. We had hoped to obtain a homogeneous school
by September 2004, but this outstanding project will not be
completed this year. However, the project has only been partly
postponed since the CSF has promised us a school in 2005. We
now know that our new address for September 2004 will be within
a school that has operated an integrated immersion program for
many years: South Sahali Elementary School. We are thrilled
with the idea of joining the school since it meets all of our selection

de comédiens, lors du festival de théatre présenté par 1’ APPIK
le 20 mai prochain. Un gros merci 4a madame Lise Bilodeau,
notre enseignante de 2° et 3° années, pour son implication dans
l organisation de ce festival. Nous voulons également souhaiter
bonne chance a tous nos étudiants de 3° et de 6° années qui
participent au concours d’écriture de la Plume d’Or organisé
par le CSF. Merci a tous ceux qui ont fait de cette année scolaire
une grande réussite. Bonnes vacances !

arms and we’re confident that a dynamic partnership will emerge
from this union. The sugar shack outing organized by the
Kamloops Francophone Association was a great success. Once
again, our children displayed their singing and dancing talents.
Students will have another opportunity to perform during the
upcoming APPIK theatre festival on May 20. Sincere thanks to
Madame Lise Bilodeau, our grades 2 and 3 teacher, for her
involvement in organizing this festival. We would also like to
wish best of luck to all the grades 3 and 6 students participating
in the CSF-sponsored Plume d’Or essay competition. Thanks to
everyone who made this school year such a great success!

Tous les éléves de l’école du Pacifique ont eu la chance de visiter |’ Aquarium
de Vancouver grace a une « subvention voyage » du Comité des partenaires
de l’école et a la participation de nombreux parents accompagnateurs. Aussi,
le personnel a généreusement donné de leur temps. Tous en furent trés satisfaits
et on planifie notre participation au Festival des enfants en mai. A I’école
secondaire Chatelech, des étudiants de la classe d’éducation de plein air ont
eu la chance de participer a une excursion de kayak de fin de semaine avec
accompagnateurs et guide, Pascal Carrara (1* sur la photo), co-propriétaire de
Sunshine Kayaking a Gibsons. La classe des 10° 4 12° années ont recu la visite
de Marc Prudhomme de |’Université d’Ottawa, la plus grande université
bilingue au monde ! Il a bien suscité I’intérét des jeunes...

Thanks to a travel grant from the school partners committee, and with the
assistance of numerous parent monitors, the entire Ecole du Pacifique student
body had an opportunity to visit the Vancouver Aquarium. Also, staff members
generously donated their time. We are currently planning to take part in the
Children’s Festival in May. Chatelech Secondary students from the outdoor
education class had an opportunity to take part in a weekend kayak excursion

along with their monitors and guide, Pascal
Carrara, co-owner of Sunshine Kaya-king in
Gibsons. The grades 10, 11 and 12 classes received
a visit from Marc Prudhomme of the University of
Ottawa, the largest bilingual university in the
world! The students were certainly inspired...
