Yd F aq 7 THE CORPORATION OF THE ‘ CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM NOV 01 1993 REPORT TO COUNCIL TO: B.R. Kirk DATE: October 28, 1993 City Administrator FROM: LR. Zahynacz, P. Eng., FILE: PWC City Engineer SUBJECT: RESIDENT ONLY PARKING - BROWN STREET (Public Works Committee Meeting of October 27, 1993) RECOMMENDATION: ) That Council direct the City Clerk to amend the Traffic Bylaw No. 1117 to designate "Resident Only Parking” on the east side of Brown Street from Tyler to Warwick. 2) That this "Resident Only Parking" designation be removed when the Cat and Fiddle Pub operation expands the on-site patron parking facilities. BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: There have been on-going problems with patrons of the Cat and Fiddle Pub parking and disturbing the peace and quiet of the residential area on Brown Street between Tyler and Warwick. At present the west side of Brown Street between Tyler and Warwick is designated as a no-parking zone and the east side of Brown Street at this location has no parking restrictions. In the evenings, patrons of the Cat and Fiddle Pub park on the east side of Brown Street, cause a disturbance restrict resident parking. We understand that the Cat and Fiddle Pub may acquire additional property in the future and expand the parking thus reducing the problem of patron parking in the surrounding residential neighbourhood. a As a temporary measure, it is recommended that "Resident Only Parking" be designated on the east side of Brown Street between Tyler and Warwick between 5:00 pm and 12:00 midnight. In the future when patron parking at the Cat. and Fiddle Pub is provided, the residential only parking could be removed. OL LA Zid? ™ LR. Zahynacz, P. Eng. City Engineer iRZ:cd Attachments
