SUBJECT: Replacement of Pump Station Alarm Panels cluase be advised that as a result of a pump failure at the Brand Sanitary Pump Station of February 19, 1990, in which no audio alarm was received at the Fire Hall, Standard Electric was called upon to investigate and initiate repairs, It was determined that the audio alarm module to the E.S.C. Control . Panel monitoring six sewer Lift stations and the Citadel Water Booster Station, was faulty and requiring immediate replacement. Failure to immediately replace the equipwent may have resulted in damage to private property and possible liability claims, as a result of pump failures which would have been undetectable to our staff. Terry Day, the City's Purchasing Manager was informed of the urgency of the necessary remedial work. Subsequently a new panel was purchased and installed. A list of the total equipment and labour costs are submitted below for your review: Total hardware including panel package $4,900.00 Total labour including all repairs and modifications $2,400.00 TOTAL $7,300.00 Additionally, it is recommended that all of the existing hardware be transferred to completely renew the system to the Edwards 6500 Alarm Panel.
