These changes if accepted will reduce general property taxes to $9,385,844 which is an
increase of approximately 8% (5% after growth) from last year.

BUDGET CONCERNS:

pending on roads capital (or extraordinary maintenance)
is not sufficient over the long run to do the job required, we have about 130 Km of
local streets which are worth somewhere around $25,000,000. The amount of money in
our 1987 budget for upgrading these roads is $200,000 which if continued over a
period of time would mean that we are expecting our side streets to last 125 years.
A more reasonable expectation would be a 25 year life (designed for 20 year life) so
an annual allocation of $1,000,000 would be required.

We are purchasing the Kilmer House but our budget does not include any funds for
operating costs or revenues, it ig therefore assumed that one will offset the other.
