Re: Municipal Involvement in 20th Amiversary Celebrations

At the 11 February 1987 meeting of GVRD’s Park Committee, considerable
importance was given to the member mimicipality’s involvement in special events
commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the regional parks system.

The enclosed material is to help you inform your colleaques of the events, and

the assistance we are requesting. In brieZ, we are asking you to secure four
fthinds:

Participation of you and ycur colleagues on Council in the events
themselves.

Space in your summer Parks and Recreation brochure to announce the 20th
Anniversary events.

Inclusion of your facilities in the region—wide recreation pass to ke
offered as prizes at 20th Anniversary events.

4, Involvement of your parks and recreation staff in at least one 20th
Anniversary event.

Attached is a sample report that you can submit to your Council and Parks and
Recreation Commission or Committee. Please arrange for the consideration of
these requests within your municipality and inform us of the response bv
returning the enclosed pink checklist to Alderman Ann Hulbert by Wednesdav 18
March 1987.

The yellow pages follewing the checklist contain backaround informacion fer
eacn of the four requested areas of assistance.
