BFFECTS sf DIAZINON on HUMAN FERAL? DIAZINON (Basudin) causes the following illnesses in humane -- *Irritability, *Loga of appetite, *nervousness, *Loas of ‘weight, *Fatigue, *Reduction of blood acetylcholinesterase ‘activity, *Lethargy, *Duodenal Ulcers, "Memory Impairment, *Diarrhea, *Confusion, *Decreased-mental concentration, *Instability, *Muscle aches and pains, *Cramps, *Visual Impairment (Myopia), *Inability to co-operate, Acute gastroénteritis, *Neusea, ~~ °~ _ *Numbnesa and weakness of limbs, *Depression, Schizophrenic reactions, *Headache,. *Bronchial Asthma, *Constriction of the eye pupils, *#Unconsciousness; *Vomiting,: *Giddiness, Profuse. sweating, *Salivation, *Contact Dermatitis, *Albuminuria, *Broncho constriction with : Pulmonary congestion, *Coronary heart attack, *Ulcerative Stomatitis, *Running of the nose, *Exceasive menstrual flow. CASE HISTORIES -~ (1) Joseph H. Holmes, M.D. Head of the division of Renal diseases, University of Colorado, summarized for a congressional committee, his observations, after treating more than. 1000 cages of individuals exposed to DIAZINON. All showed damaging (plow reactiona to stimuli) ~reduction of blood acetylcholinesterase activity. (Jallion 1966) According to Dr. Holmes there is a definite change in blood coagulation following exposure to DIAZINON. At first, for three oz four days, the blood clots much more rapidly than normal. After the fourth day, the blood takes an abnormally long time t+o- Glot. (normal blood coagulation time is two to three minutes. ) Two people have developed coronary heart ‘attacks Decause of increased coagulation time following exposure. (Jallion 1966) In 1971 Nomba Jateuji reported on 25 cases of human illnesses caused by DIAZINON. The symptoms he observed included electreencephal- ographic changes in the brain, nervousness, fatigue, lethargy, menory impairment, Confusion, decreased mental concentration, increased emotional instability (abnormally rapid mood changes from one extreme to the other e.g. happy to depressed), muscle aches and pains, cramps, numbness and weakness of limbs, Depression, Schizophrenia, headache, increased urinary excretion of urobllinagen, Bronchial asthma, contact dermatitis, ulcerative stomatitis, (inflamation of the mouth) -~Hypercoagulability with shortened prothrombin (a factor in plasma that takes part in the blood clotting process) time. ~ Also observed~-Increased prothrombin consumption and increased factor VII and hypercoagulability with prolonged prothrombin time and decreased factor VII (Jatsuji 1971) There are many more than the cases noted above...and all other pesticides and herbicides have similar or worse effects on the human body. The composition of DIAZINON (Basudin) is as follows: 0, O~ diethyl - 0 ~ (2 isopropyl - h- Methyl - 6- pyrimidinal ) phosphorothioate. R.M. A. S. PL EL OC. Ridge Meatou SEC,
