Alderman Traboulay advised he understood the dyking pump at Dominion Avenue has not been operating for two weeks; however, the City Engineer ‘advised that the pump is functioning very well but was not operating for three days because of low water. Alderman Traboulay referred to the rough condition of the road surface on Prairie Avenue Eastward to Cedar Drive, caused by cuts made to install services, and he inquired whether or not the developers could be requested to repave those areas so damaged; however, the City Engineer advised that there are still a number of installations to be carried out on Prairie Avenue, such as a major watermain, a gas line, and storm sewers, and he stated he felt it would be premature to undertake any reconstruction or paving until this work has been completed. Alderman Traboulay suggested that the Finance Committee look into the question of obtaining funds from developers and others for resurfacing roads where cuts, etc., have been made to install services, and Mayor Campbell agreed that this would be done. Alderman Traboulay expressed concern that people can pay to reserve tennis courts; however, Alderman Thompson advised that those who paid for registration in that part of the Recreation Prograume could phone and reserve time between lessons.
