It was located on the corner of Lakelse Ave- nue and Atwood Street (acrass from Dairy Queen.) Lacated in the Coast Inn of The West hii ain al Cool prizes all weekenagyy colour. She also remembers a funny story about painting. She said Doc Harrison was asked to paint (he black trim around the doors and windows of the building. And while Roberta was up on the ladder helping bim, Doc came around from be- hind her and painted a black Strip across her legs. They all had a good jaugh over this. When the snack bar first opened, there was only one counter and eight stools. A year later, they put in several tables with chairs for more seating. Roberta still has a few of these chairs in her home, The stack bar served sandwiches, chili, soup and hamburgers. Everyone agreed that Flossie was a marvelous cook, She was well-known for her scrump- tious deserts. Town favourites were her coconut cream pie, banana cream pie and flapper pie. When sugar aud coffee were still being rationed due ‘to the war, some of her friends would give her coupons so she could buy the extra sugar to make ber delicious deserts.
