C., Feb, 7 Editor Omineea Heraid, New Hazelton, B C. Sir—While north of 58 last summer I made many new and valued friends, not the least of whom was James Turnbull. I also renewed acquaintance with Austin Goodenough, and as a cedar savage of some standing, and a bacheior of long standing, they made me feel very happy, for misery likes company. But alas, my happin®ss was short lived; those who I believed were faithful comrades have since de- serted the ranks of the great un- wed, and left me alone and un- loved. It is human to err and to forgive is divine, They being human [shall exercise some of my divinity and forgive them, for their tempation must have been very great. When people die {or get mar- ried) it is customary to say some thing good about them, and in this case—very sad—I ean say that as men they .were both in the front rank, that they took two paces forward and turned to the right, and.I only hope that they will continue to travel in that direction, accompanied. by health and happiness. Their deserted comrade, . A. P, Horne P. $.--To my many good friends in the north, especially, Hazeiton, I take this opportunity of wish- ing them well.
