SUBJECT: 1994 CAPITAL EQUIPMENT PURCHASES - GARBAGE TRUCK,
DUMP TRUCK, FLAIL MOWER AND TRACTOR
(Public Works Committce Meeting of Jaume 7, 1994)

That Council accept the following bids from equipment suppliers as part of the
1994 Capital Equipment Replacement Program:

a) Garbage Tnick Vancouver White GMC $131,241.00
b) Dump Truck Dams Lincoln $30,224.99
c) Flail Mower and Tractor Rollins Machinery $86,003.88

That $265,843.61 be allocated from the Public Works Capital Equipment
Replacement Fund for this porpose.

Six quotes were received for the supply of a new garbage packer as shown on the attached
summary and the lowest bid that meets the City’s specification is from Vancouver White GMC

at a cost of $149,614.74 (including GST).
Dump Truck:

The City received four quotes for the supply of a mini dump truck as shown on the attached
summary and the lowest bid is from Dams Lincoln at a cost of $30,224.99 (including GST).

The City sent invitations for quotations to nine firms for the supply of a flail mower and tractor.
Two firms submitteed two bids each for a total of four bids as shwon on the attached summary.
It is recommended that Council award the supply of the flail mower and tractor to Rollins
Machinery based on a Ford, 6640-4WD tractor pius a Tiger flail mower at a cost of $86,003.88.

(including GST) The fourth lowest bid is recommended because the Ford 6640-6 4WD tractor is
considered the most stable tractor and because Roilins Machinery is the only authorized dealer

in B.C. for Tiger Mowers. | Jhlipracz—
