THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PORT COQUITLAM REPORT TO COUNCIL MEMORANDUM May 3, 1994 To: Jim Maitland, Acting City Adrninistrator From: Janna Taylor, Parks & Recreation Director Subject: Hyde Creek Tender for Aluminum Work (Parks & Recreation Committee Meeting, May 3, 1994) RECOMMENRATION: That Glastech be awarded the contract for the aluminum work at a cost of $138,195.00 BACKGROUND & COMMENTS: In the last tender package, taken to Council, the contract for the aluminum work was not awarded as it was over budget. Since that time, the Project Manager requested alternative bids on various changes, Each company was given an opportunity to re-bid. An alternate bid was provided for the duracron finish and the hardware for the exit devices, Also includes the credit for "standard sills". This provided for a reduction from 159,644 to 135,195.00, The Project Manager has indicated that tuey are still not happy with the cost for the 2" deep thermal break windows and will be looking further into this. It should be noted that the aluminum work is still aver budget by $14,520, However,.we still have a contingency fund of $46,339, Attached to this report is the letter from Doug Margison of Mierau Construction and the cost analysis to date. ray 8) tee
