Re: Rezoning Applications and Burning Permits

At the regular Council meeting of June 19th, 1978,
Alderman Mabbett gave Norice that he intends to present a motion at
the June 26th, 1978 Council meeting along the following lines:

"That process of all rezoning and Land Use Contract
applications involving raw, uncleared land be suspended immediately
until such time as the Council reach a policy decision on the conditions
upon which outdoor burning will be permitted or, alternatively, a
decision is reached by Council not to permit such burning."

It is my understanding that the above noted policy woulu
apply to rezoning and Land Use Contract applications that have not yet
reached the By-law stage.
