The Brochure published by the city of Port Coquitlam in 1975 listed a total of 200 Businesses and Professional services and 27 Industries. There are a total of ‘1,567 persons employed with the Industries. This will in all probability increase and so will the Business and Professional services, Business and Industry will bring more feople into the library area and will enlarge demand for Business information. Together with the Recreation facilities in the City of Port Coquitlam in close proximity to the library site the Branch will become a centre for cultural and civic activities through increased use. Branch circulation for 1974 was 127,017 , fifth highest in the Fraser Valley System. The collection housed in the Branch now is approximately 13,000. If it is expanded to 40,000 the circulation is expected to at least double, probably more so. Reference questions and information inquiries are also expected to more than double.
