The east wing has already been gutted and the new units should be completed . by August, says Danny Sheridan of the Muks-Kum- Ol Housing Society, which purchased the facility after it was closed by the provincial Liberal government. The north — residential wing of 10 rooms is being re- painted and fixed up to serve as a shorter term stay facility - . for young people from out of town attending Northwest Community College or other - training courses in town. Other rooms, including a ; dining area and ones for rec- reation, have already been repainted. The facility has been re- named as the society’s youth centre but including elderly” people will not only provide needed housing but add a mentoring atmosphere by connecting the young with the old, said Sheridan. “It’s in really — good ~ shape;” said Sheridan of the’ ~ facility and its facilities.
