Le 23éme Festival d’été Francophone de Vancouver dé-
butera le jeudi 14 Juin a 19h30 sur la Scéne TV5 avec
un concert de Raphaél Freynet. Originaire de Sainte-
Genevieve au Manitoba, et maintenant basé en Alberta,
Raphaél Freynet est d’une jeune génération d’artistes de
l'Ouest canadien qui émergent depuis quelques années sur
les scénes francophones. Musicien habile au piano com-
me ala guitare, il a développé son propre pop-rock indie fin
feutré, ornés de cuivres, parfois intimiste, parfois épique. Avec une force de frappe
enivrante, sa voix aux subtilités Brit-Rock est intrigante. Son premier album, «Le
monde a voir», lancé en début 2011, a remporté le prix de l’enregistrement franco-
phone de l’année au Western Canadian Music Awards l’année demiére. Le lauréat
du prix Marie-Woolridge 2012 ouvrira le spectacle

Vancouver & 23rd Festival d’été francophone will kick off on Thursday June 14 at
7 :30 p.m. on the TV5 stage with a concert by Raphaél Freynet. Originally from

Sainte Genevieve in Manitoba, and now living in Alberta, Raphaél Freynet be-
longs to a young generation of artists from Western Canada who have emerged
over recent years on the francophone performance scene. A talented musician on

piano and guitar, he has developed his own subtle pop-rock indie style, accented
with brass, ranging in tone from intimate to epic. With an intoxicating impact, his

voice has intriguing Brit-Rock undertones. His first album, «Le monde a voir»,

launched at the start of 2011, won the prize for the best francophone recording of
the year at last years Western Canadian Music Awards.The laureate of the 2012

Marie-Woolridge Award will open the show.
