THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF POR? COQUITLAM JAN 25 1998 MEMORANDUM January 21, 1988 Administrator FROM: Chong, P. Eng., City Ungineer SUBJECT: Replacement of Pressure Reducing Station at Coast Meridian and Lougheed Highway - Public Works Committee January 19, 1988 Recommendation: That the authorized budget for the replacement of the pressure reducing station at Coast Meridian and Lougheed Highway be increased from $35,000 to $50,000. Background and Comments: This is an approved water capital project carried forward from 1987. Council will recall that this was one of the design projects undertaken by Associated Engineering Services Limited (A-E.SsL.). A preliminary cost estimate without the benefit of a detailed design was submitted during the 1987 Utilities Budget discussions. Council approved $35,000 for this project at that time. Recently, AwE.«SaL. had finaity completed a detailed design and has subsequently increased the estimated cost for this project to $50,000. In view of the poor condition of the existing station and the significant role it plays in supplying water to the north half of the City, this project is still a valid priority of this department. Council's approval to increase the budget to $50,000 jis respectfuliy requested. TM. Chong, Pe ENQe, City Engineer Note: Funds are available in the 1988 Water Utiltities Budget To cover the requested additional $15,000 for this project. VEZ A: Mattiand yoy Treasurer oT-Jan/88(19)
