The. meeting reconvened at 8:25 p.m. CORRESPONDENCE & PETITIONS: The City Clerk advised receipt of Petition 1 regarding violent crimes. Moved by Alderman Wright: seconded by Alderman Lakinag: That the petition on violent crimes be made available for signing at City Hall and the Library; AND THAT signs regarding the petition be posted at all Municipal Buildings. Carried. Alderman Vater voted against the resolution. REPORTS: From the Finance Committee, September 2lst, 1982 being a Statement of Accounts Payable in the amount of $1,194,347.13. Moved by Alderman Gates: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That the report of the Finance Committee, September 21st, 1982 being a Statement of Accounts Payable in the amount of $1,194,347.13, be approved. Carried. From Alderman E.W. Mabbett, September 8th, 1982 regarding U.B.C.M. Conventions. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Gates: That Council alternate Council members each year by sending only the Mayor and one half the Council to the U.B.C.M. conventions in the coming years. Defeated. Alderman Vater voted in favour of the resolution.
