V38 1V2 Dear Mr & Mrs Vincent: rel Trees — Lanewav Your letter of March 29th, 1985, has been brought to the tiori of the Parks & Recreation Committee. In your letter attenyou raise concerns that your trees were cut back without any consultation with you. Let me first address the question of the overhanging branches in the laneway. As a matter of course the Parks Department does prune trees in laneways in Port In your particular area it was not a problem until Coquitlam. this year. The men'had been using the parking lot by the store to rltake garbage a wide turn into the laneway. However, the store did not appreciate the trucks using their parking lot and, therefore, our drivers had to make a much t.ighter turn. Due to the fact that they had to make this tighter turn, the men on were getting hit with the branches. Laneways are tothebe truck clear of overhanging etc., and, therefore, we had tokept cut your branches back. branches, lt is, however, that our staff did not contact both of you to let youunfortunate know what was happening. It would have been appropriate to inform you of the City intended to do and I do apologise that this did notwhat happen. I would like to assure you that, in the future, should we require to trim the trees again, we would indeed contact you. Thanking you for your consideration in this matter. Yours truly, R .
