GENERAL. UNDERSTANDING

Subject to the terma of this Memorandum of Understanding,
the City of Port Coquitlam ia responsible for attacking,
Gantrolling and extinguishing all foreat fires on
Sehadule ‘A’ lands and the City of Port Coquitlam and the
Forest Service are responsible for attacking, controlling
and extinguishing all foreat firee on Schedule 'B’ lands.
Fira Department action on fires on Schedule ‘B’ landa
will be limited to these areas that are accessible to
Fire Department resources,

Upon receipt of a report of a forest fire on Schedule ‘A’
lands-or Schedule ‘B’ lands the Forest Service will
immediately report the forest fira to the City of

Port Coquitlam.

Upon receipt of a raport of @ forest fire on Schedule ‘A’
Lands or Schedule ’B’ lands the City of Bort Coquitlam.
will immediately report the foreat fire to the Forest
Service at 794-2200.

Upon receipt of a raport of, or upon arrival at a forest
fire, the City of Port Coquitlam will determine if it
can control or extinguish that fire within one (1) hour
of attack and immediately notify the Forest Service of
that determination. If the Fire Department determines
that it cannot extinguisa or contre) that fire within one
(1) hone it will immediately request assistance from the
Foreat Service.

If the City of Port Coquitlam requests assistance

from the Forest Service in actioning a forest fire, the
Forest Service, in its sole discretion may, subject to
subsisting attack priorities and suppression demands do
any of the following:

(a) aseiat by providing forest fire suppression
expertise;

(b) assist by providing forest fire suppression
resources; or

assume full direction and reaponsibiliity of the
suppression action for the forest fire.
