By ASV Ee ini ie Ministry staff discussed in general terms the issue of Douglas Island and technical aspects regarding its zoning and Municipal control over the island. Ministry staff did not intend to give any advice as to preferred methods to eatabliash this control because they do not have the information to develop a position; and Ministry staff suggested to the inquirer that the City Planner should be contacted for information and advice on the best avenues to follow, to achieve the desired Municipal control (of Douglas Island). DISCUSS LON: From my contact with the above-mentioned Senior Staff of Municipal Affairs, it appears that the information received Monday by Council is the result of miscommunication. The Ministry has not, as yet, made a decision on the rezoning of Douglas Island, so any action on Bylaw No. 2640 could be premature. Carlos Felig, M.Atch., M.C.1.P.
