November 3rd,1986 /206 NEW BUSINESS: Alderman Farnworth referred to the current run of salmon in the Coquittam River and advised that due to the low water levels the fish were being trapped fin pools in the river and people were stoning and gaffing these fish and he suggested that there was a need for more frequent patrols by the Federal and Provincial Fisheries Department. Moved by Alderman Farnworth: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That the Federal and Provincial Departments of Fisheries be advised of the difficulties salmon are encountering in ascending the Coquitlam River due to ‘cw water levels and the harassment these salmon are being subjected to. by persons who gaff and stone these fish and that the - departments be asked to increase their patrol.
