Canadian Transport Commission and the Telephone Company relating to teleph. ae R “service, toll-free calling and other considerations, His Worship the Mayor welcomed the officials to the meeting, and Mr. T. Williams, Coastal Division Customer Service Manager introduced Mr. S.R,. Hartney, District Customer Service Manager for New Westminster and the Fraser Valley, and Mr. J. Rayer, General Rate Supervisor to the Council. Alderman Ranger inguired- why the City of Port Coquitlam was not included in the New Westminster-Coquitlam-Port Moody calling area, commenting that since the last plebicite conducted by the Telephone Company in 1961, the City’s Population has increased from 8,009 to 20,000, and pointing out that there is toll-free calling between the University of British Columbia Endowment Lands and Surrey, but not between Port Coquitlam and Surrey. That the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitiam Yequest the British Columbia Telephone Company to conduct a poll in Port @ on areas that thay would wish to call in & toll-free service.
