September 8th, 1975 Nature Area Ded. /law #1393-1st 3 readings Zon.Amend.B/law #1390-fin. pass. & adoption Alderman Traboulay, speaking in opposition to By-law No. 1392, mentioned that when the original proposal was submitted the residents in the area concerned expressed preference for a single-family development on the site, and he stated his view that the Strata Title Subdivision proposal is a compromise situation where the Council has not listened to the people; further, that he did not consider the purchase price of approximately $53,000.00 for each unit as being affordable housing. From the City Clerk, September 4th, 1975, advising that the "Nature Area Dedication By-law, 1975, No. 1393" is being presented at this time for initial consideration as it is expected in a very short time to be able to complete dedication of the entire property and approve its consolidation into a single lot. Alderman Ranger introduced a By-law to dedicate certain real property owned by The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam as a Nature Area. Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That By-law No. 1390 be reconsidered, finally passed and adopted. Carried. NEW BUSINESS: Ald. Ranger~detour- Alderman Ranger advised that improvements to the Pitt River Road~ Pitt R.Rd.-McLean Avenue impts. Aid.Ranger re aming of public facilities McLean Avenue intersection will be commenced this week and that the Department of Highways has been requested to erect appropriate signs on the Highway to forewarn motorists of the traffic detour that will be in effect while the work is ongoing. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Thompson: That the naming of public facilities in the future require the majority consent of all members of Council. Carried. Mayor Campbell voted against the resolution.
