Floodplain Policies: The revised Floodplain and Floodproofing Policies were once again brought before the Board, They were not debated as the Chairman felt that they should be revised and updated prior to full discussion. The policies were adopted in principle and referred to the Planning Committee for revision and updating for presentation to the next Zoard meeting. Iam a member of the Committee and will take full advantage of the opportunity to make known all the revisions as outlined by our Council Committees. Bus Services - Deficit: The G.V.R.D. Board discussed the latest proposal from the Provincial Government on the deficit involved in operating and expanding the existing B.C. Hydro bus service with the additional one hundred buses. Director Alan Kelly reported to the Board that the Province suggested the 50/50 sharing of all deficits, estimated at Two and a half million dollars, with the Board and that two mills be added to the municipal taxes in each component municipality to offset the costs involved. This proposal was rejected unanimously and Director Kelly instructed to start new talks with Victoria on the subject. Mobile Home Park: Once again the application for an amendment to the Regional Pian to allow redesignation of a 90-acre site on the upper Coquitlam River for a 300 unit mobile home park was presented to the Board. This proposal was again rejected as it was felt that servicing requirements could not be met and that unpredictable river erosion and flood conditions as outlined in the Hurst Report, and undesirable. made urban development both unsafe
