SUBJECT: LOWER MAINLAND MUNICIPAL TENDER DOCUMENTS
(Public Works Committers: Meeting - October 29, 1991)

That Council approve the participation of the City of Port Coquitlam in the
preparation of Phase II (Standard Detailed Drawings) of the Lower Mainland
Master Municipal Tender Document Program based on a cost contribution from
the City of Port Coquitlam of $3,000 in 1993.

That Council approve the participation of the City of Port Coquitlam in Phase III
(Front End Documents) of the Lower Mainland Master Municipal Tender
Document Program based on a contribution of $900 from the City of Port
Coquitlam in 1993.

That $3,900 be allocated from the 1993 Public Works Capitai Fund for this
purpose.

The Public Works Committee considered the attached memorandum from the City Engineer
dated October 28, 1991 regarding the Lower Mainland Municipal Tender Documents.

A standard Municipal Tender Document contains the following components:

1) Written detailed specifications.
2) Standard detailed drawings plus contract drawings.
3) Form of Tender and securities.

On Septernber 17, 1990 Council approved the City of Port Coquitlam’s participation at a cost of
$3,500 in the development of a common Written Detailed Specifications for the Lower
Mainland. In September, 1991, the detailed written specifications for the Municipal Tender
Documents has been completed in cooperation with all the municipalities in the Lower Mainland.
