NEW_ BUSINESS: Alderman Mabbett advised Council the By-law Officer is finding difficult to enforce Parking Regulations in the Downtown Area as the staff of the Downtown Merchants are parking in the 2 hour zones and moving their cars every two hours to avoid parking restrictions. ‘Alderman Mabbett recommended a letter from Council be sent to the Downtown Merchants asking for their cooperation with the Parking Regulations. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Ranger: That as recommended by Alderman Mabbett, a letter from Council be sent to the Downtown Merchants asking for their cooperation in advising their staff not to park in the downtown area where restrictions are in effect. Alderman Mabbett recommended a letter from Council be sent to the Manager of the Belair Apartments asking that he notify residents of the apartment block of parking restrictions on Tyner Street and Central Avenue as the traffic is very heavy and the children living in the area run out on the road without looking.
