6.31 Slash Burning The use of slash burning as a silviculture treatment shall be prohibited. Slash burning is a controversial silviculture prescription. Arguments exist which at minimum place the benefit of mass burning in doubt. Legisiation shall be developed which affords 1) protection and enhancement of natural fish stocks in all their habitats, 2) restoration of fish habitats damaged by human and natural intrusion, 3) equitable access fo fish harvesting by ail user groups. The continued existence of a healthy fish population will be acknowledged as an important indicator of the ecolog cal health of inland and coastal water habitats.
