This is distributed as follows: “swer Tinital Ppacsete The ‘iesign of the station excluding the preparation of contract documents has been iunded separately under work order 52108759586. On ‘lay 29, 1990 the Public ‘orks Committee approved spending $ 17,300 to hire Dayton & Knight to prepare contract documents, advertise tenders, administer the contract and provide as builts out of funds already allocated for construction. This leaves only $ 132,270 to build the station. The low tender for supply of equipment from Flygt Canada is $ 134,391.02 . When this is added to the $17,736 already committed for engineering costs, the total exclusive of installation amounts to $ 152,120.02 which is above the total currently allocated. Dayton and Knight are concerned that because of soil conditions and high water table in the area, the installation costs could skyrocket and wouldn't want to see us order the equipment oniy Co find we couldn't afford the installation cost. They suggest that we may wish to delay award of the supply contract until we have a firm price on installation. The Sewer Capital reserve had a balance of $900,000 + at the end of 1989. To date, 7°95,663 has been committed to projects and equipment purchases which ‘neludes funding Yandley to the $150,000 amount. There appears to be adequate funding available; however, it may be prudent to wait. The only drawback to 30t ordering the equipment now is that there may be delays which would push the installation further back to the wet season. You may wish to discuss this with the members of the Public Works Committee before making a decision as to whether or not to ask Ron Freeman to place this item on the Council Agenda as a late item. je-F /) Pa l(t Clk D.G.
