We would like to canvey to you our concerns with respect to the projected laqging., The area intanded for legging consists of fireat growth yellow cedar some Of which are in excess of 1000 years old. the area is close to a growing population in Coquitlam, Port Moody, ° Port Coquitlam all of whom extensively use the Eagle Mountain for its semi-wilderness recreational potential. There are only a few areas laft in the proximity of high density development that have the unique characteristics of an untouched forest. There now exist many trails, carefully prepared by wilderness groups, that give hikers acceas to this unique area, Building the required roads for logging access would require the crossing of Buntzen Creek, a major source of water into Buntzen Lake which, as you know hag become a significant awimming and reoreational area for the whole of the lower mainland.
