A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on April 28th, 1980 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor G.R. Laking, Aldermen M.D. Gates, J.J. Keryluk, - Mabbett, P.F. Ranger, L.M. Traboulay and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer L.D. Pollock, City Engineer F.E. Peters, P. Eng., Assistant City Engineer L. Melnechenko, P. Eng., City Planner L. Lee, City Treasurer J.G.S. Maitland, Deputy Fire Chief J.N. Boileau, Recreation Director K.J. Taylor and Mrs. D.L. Vyse. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: ; . Minutes: Mo by Ald Mabbett: ved by erman Mabbe April 21/80 Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: That the minutes of the regular meeting of this Council held on April 21st, 1980 be taken as read and adopted. Carried. DELEGATIONS: Delegations: His Worship Mayor G.R. Laking introduced two representatives, Mr. Coq. Towing & Discount Auto D. Richardson and Mr. W. Farris, of Discount Auto Towing, 2669 Bedford Towing re Monthly Towing Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. The City Administrator, Mr. L.D. Pollock, (Tabled) advised receipt of a letter, dated April 28th, 1980 from Nixon, Antifaev, Barristers & Solicitors, acting on behalf of Coquitlam Towing & Storage Co. Ltd., advising that they wish to appear before Council and asking that discussion be postponed until May 5th, 1980. Aldermen Keryluk and Gates spoke in favour of the postponement. Alderman Wright stated in his opinion the representatives of Discount Auto Towing who are present in the gallery, should be allowed to speak on their behalf. Alderman Traboulay asked the owner, Mr. Danny Richardson, for information on towing in Port Coquitlam which he was able to provide. Alderman Mabbett spoke regarding the applicant parking his tow trucks in the residential zone on Pitt River Road and asked that a letter of committment be written by Discount Auto Towing stating they would not park the tow trucks in the residential area and to this the representatives agreed. Moved by Alderman Wright: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the discussion regarding alternate monthly towing between Coquitlam Towing & Storage Co. Ltd. and Discount Auto Towing be tabled
