THE CORPORATION OF ‘Tih CITY OF PORT COQUTTLAM 4, { rf] BY-LAW NO. 1729 A By-law to assess, levy and collect the cost of the work of local: j- improvement authorized by By-law No. 1688 of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam. WHEREAS pursuant to By-law No. 1688 of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, being the "Essex Avenue Paving, Extruded Concrete Curb, and Storm Sewer Local Improvement Construction By-law, 1979, No. 1688" reconsidered, finally passed and adopted on the Thirteenth day of August, 2979, Pavement - 28' width; Storm Sewer, and Extruded Concrete Curb; all of a "Local Street" construction standard on a normal construction schedule; ‘on Essex Avenue from the east boundary of the lane east of Cedar Drive to the west boundary of Freemont Street in the City of Port Coquitlam as a work of local improvement under the provisions of Part XVI of the "Municipal Act", #8 amended; . AND WHEREAS the estimatcd lifetime of the work is twenty (20) years; AND WHEREAS the Treasurer has certified the total cost of the work to be Eighty-seven Thousand Two Hundred Three Dollars and Thirty-eight Cenes ($87,203.38) of which Seventy-one Thousand Four Hundred Forty-five Dollars and Five Cents ($71,445.05) is the City's portion of the cost, and Fifteen Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty-eight Dollars and Thirty-three Cents ($15,758.33) is the owners' portion of the cost, calculated at the rate of $13.75 per foot of taxeble foot frontage as provided in the "Local ‘Improvement Charge By-law, 1969, No. 912", as amended; i AND WHEREAS it is proposed to borrow both the City’s portion of the cost of the work and the owners' portion of the cost of the work pursuant to borrowing authority granted by the Inspector of Municipalitics; AND WHEREAS the actual foot frontage of the parcels of land benefitting from or abutting the work is 1,554.06. fect and the taxable foot frontage of the parcels of land benefitting from or abutting the work is 1,146.06 feet; AND WHEREAS it is necessary to impose a frontage-tax upon che parcels benefitcing from or abutting the work in order to recover the owners! portion of the cost, plus interest; ' THEREFORE the Municipal Councd4l of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam, in open meeting, assembled, enaces as follows: FIRST THREE READINGS
