UNC ve Mayor and Aldermen . September 22nd, 1975 SEP ’) y) 4975 FROM: Alderman E.W. Mabbett The regular meeting of the Recreational Council was held on September 18th, 1975. The subject for discussion was the Nature Arer. It had been decided at a previous meeting that this would be a good project for the Recreational Council to get a study going on, to find out from the citizens and particularly the residents in the immediate area, what would be the best use of this area. We had an excellent response from the residents living in the immediate area, many that appeared at the meeting came with very set ideas on what should be done with the urea, others knew very little about it, having .moved in over the past couple of years. You will be kept informed of the progress of the group's deliberations. However, wi.at they do want to get Council and Administration working on immediately is the following: 1. _ Try to come up with a more damage-proof signing of the area. 2. See if we can tighten up on our By-law controls in relationship to vehicles, trail bikes, tree cutting, etc. constantly in the area damaging the euvironment. Request Fisheries and the R.C.M.P. to keep a closer watch on the area. Set up a regular garbage clean-up of the existing trail areas. Supply the Recreational Council with approximately 20 copies of the Howard Paish Report.
