COUN | FEB 24 1975 Mayor and Council . February 21, 1975 Land Sale Committee Re: ‘Proposed Sale of City-owned Land -— Chester Street Council may recall that in September of 1974 Council approved the sale of some City-owned property on Chester Street along with the sale of a portion of Perth Stxeet which would be closed and offered for sale. The pertinent reports pertaining to the transaction are attached. At that time, Council set a price ef $70,000.00 for the City-owned land plus the ‘portion of Perth. After this was authorized by Council, the purchaser was unable: to get the Consent of. the adjacent owners for the closure of Perth. This necessitated further discussions with the Committee regarding alternative’ lay-outs to provide a subdivision that would make most economical use of the land parcel - and if possible eliminate the need to open Perth as a street. The lay-out of the subdivision has:now been dealt with by the Planning and Zoning Com ‘mittee and their recommendation has, been forwarded:-to Council. The sale’ would invoive the sale of the City-owned land on Chester plus a small strip of Perth Street 10 feet wide in order to permit the proposed subdivision lay-out. The Committee has discussed the price of the City land and recommends to Council the sale of the City-owned Lot 41, plus the 10 foot strip of Perth Street for the sum of $48,500.00 subject to the Purchaser combining the parcel with lots 4 - 10 and subject to the Purchaser paying all legal costs . in connection with the subdivision and cancellation of the small portion ' of Perth. = “tT.
