Alderman Keryluk, Laking, and Ranger voted in favour of the resolution.

Prior to defeat of the foregoing resolution, a further discussion ensued, and

Aiderman Traboulay suggested that the Council meet with the G.V.R.D. on his pro-

posal as scon as possible; however, Alderman Ranger commented this woulddefeat the

whole purpose of the exercise, which is to provide housing at a price people can

@ escora. Alderman Keryluk suggested that the motion preposed by Alderman Traboulay

was out of order; however, Mayor Campbell ruled it to be in order, and commended
Alderman Traboulay for putting forth:a positive suggestion. Aldert.an Ranger sta-
ted he would support a motion instructing the Administration to do a feasibility
study on Alderman Traboulay's suggestion and then propose to the G.V.R.D. that
the City would be willing to lease the land at cost for housing.

That the Administration be instructed to embark on a feasibility study with
regard to a possible swap of 200 City-owned 33' lots for the G.V.R.D. housing dev-

elopment site on Coast Meridian Road at Prairie Avenue;

AND THAT the feasibility of leasing these lots for housing also be investigated. -
Carried.
In answer to a query from Alderman Mabbett, the City Administrator advised

OB rnat about two weeks would be required to determine what area would be involved

in a swap.

That the motion made at the May 27th, 1974 Council meeting to approve in
principle the arena advertising proposal set forth in a letter from J.C. Stobie
and Associates, April 15th, 1974, subject to working out details with respect
thereto, be Lifted from the table; |

| AND THAT the City enter into a. contract with J.C. Stobie and Associates for

arena advertising as proposed subject to working out the details with respect

thereto. . Carried.

Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Ranger queried whether
the Council agreed with the principle of advertising in a public facility, and

suggested that if there is money to be made through advertising, then the City
