From the City Administrator, March 8th, 1974, advising of a letter he had City Adm.re School Dist request to purchase land for School pur- poses received from School Distrit No. 43. (Coquitlam), asking if the Council would con- sider the sale of some land for future school construction, and stating that the two sites involved are: (1) land on Coquitlam Avenue adjacent to James Park School site; (2) land on Reeve Street for a proposed school to service the Town Centre, Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Mabbett: That the request. of School District No. 43 (Coquitlam) to purchase City land on Coquitlam Avenue adjacent to the James Park School site be referred to the Land Sale Committee for action. Carried, Prior to passage of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Mabbett suggested that that section of Wellington Street adjacent ot the School that has not been constr- uc ted should be studied with a view to offering the same for sale to the School Board. Alderman Taking agreed, suggesting that the Traffic and Public Works Com- Bnittecs should review the situation and ‘it not required, the road allowance should be abandoned and the School Board allowed to purchase it.
