The CSF Partners’ Commitiee policy (D-400- 18) was adopted in June 2008. This committee brings together rep- resentatives of school parents, teachers, support staff and administration, students (beginning in Grade 10), school-based early childhood centres, and the com- munity. The focus is on the cooperation of these groups to offer students an edu- cation that is recognized for its excel- lence and for its fostering of culture and the francophone community. The goal of this collaborative approach is to unite the forces of fhe school and the community in contributing to the academic success and distinct identity of all students. Mandate Specifically, the Partners' Committees are mandated to: ¢ Develop the Projet éducatif (School Plan); ¢ Ensure that the Plan is implemented, evaluated and updated as nee- ded; ¢ Promote the home/school/ community partnership; ¢ Develop, adopt and revise the school code of conduct; e Articulate guiding principles for the school: 1. Distribution of school resources; 2. Delivery of educational programs and services at the school; 3. Development of the academic calendar. The Projet éducatif (School Plan) The term Projet éducatif refers to a long-term plan to achieve the basic goals of the school and main approaches to implementing strategic options. From this Projet éducatif comes the school’s Plan de réussite (plan for success), which must be submitted to the CSF Board each year. According to the Ministry of Education, success encompasses the students’ intfel- lectual, human, and social development, as well as their professional development. The plan for success is prepared with con- sideration for the school's environment and the diversity of its student body. In creating the Partners' Committee, each group is equally represented with respect to parents, teachers and sup- port staff. The early childhood sector if present at the school, is considered a favoured partner; therefore, an early childhood centre such as a preschool or group daycare, etc. should be invited to delegate a representative to the Part. ners’ Committee. The Partners’ Comn tee must function within the paramet set by the Education Act, CSF pol collective agreements and other | tracts with staff. The committee Chair is generally a representative of the parents.
