(Public Works Committee Meeting April 26, 1990)

RECOMMENDATION:

That Council allocate the following amounts from the 1990 Capital Budget for
the projects noted:

1) Connect Old Harbour Pump Station with
proper Hydro service $ 7,500

2) Install Grillage over floodbox for safety
and debris elimination (Harbour, Dominion, &
Laurier ) 18,500

Reduce Grillage Openings at Inlet to Pump
Stations to protect pumps (Cedar, Harbour, &
Dominion) 9,500

Upgrade Barberry Pump Station Electrical
component s 1,200

Replace culverts in NE Sector 27,500

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS:

Council has previously given conceptual approval to the above projects which
were short listed by the Committee. Staff have now reviewed the estimates in
detail and are satisfied that the work can be done for the amounts noted.
These amounts are the same as what has been previously submitted to Council
for conceptual approval. The Committee recommends approval so that staff can
proceed with the work.
