Moved by Alderman Traboulay: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That Council proceed with Orders of the: Day. Carried. a Mayor Laking advised that the Province would be:! new Court House in the City” Alderman Traboulay expressed his appreciation for the work and time Mayor Laking put in on this item and the Mayor advised it was the continuous effort of the whole Council that brought this about. Moved by Alderman Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: ” That letters of thanks be sent to the Salvation Army, Silver Chords Choir, The Ministerial Association, A to Z Upholsterers and others in regards to the Terry Fox Memorial Service. Carried, Alderman Mabbett expressed concern regarding vandalism in Lions Park, and stated the City should look at some methods of locking off the washrooms in particular, as the men's washroom was damaged extensively. Also Alderman Mabbett felt the City should review the provisions of the Noise Control By-law, relating to Statutory Holidays. Moved by Alderman. Mabbett: Seconded by Alderman Traboulay: ‘That the provision of the Noise Control By-law relating to Statutory Holidays be reviewed. Alderman Traboulay commented on the B.C. Telephone increase, at this time Alderman Wright stated he would leave the Chambers, due to a possible conflict of interests. At 8:25 p.m. Alderman Wright left the Chambers.
