MEMO TO: Mayor & Aldermen ; hiee 12th, 1976 OLT 18 1976 FROM: R.A. Freeman, City Clerk Representatives of Brownies Franchises Ltd. will appear before Council on Monday, October 18th, 1976 to discuss a problem concerning the signing of their new premises at 2063 Lougheed Highway. As Council members are aware, the Brownies outlet is being constructed on the same property as a Midas Muffler Shop and the sign By-law allows only one free-standing sign per property. This creates a difficulty as both Brownies and Midas desire to have a free-standing sign. The plans, as submitted, show a single free~standing sign in the centre of the property and the Brownies Chicken representatives have suggested that two free~stand- ing signs be permitted ~ one at each side of the property. &A copy of Brownies Franchises Ltd.'s letter of October 6th, 1976,. is attached and the representatives will doubtlessly have plans and photographs to display when they appear before the Council.
